head shots! head shots! rarrgh arrgh snicker snort.

Radio host Michael Reagan called for the execution of "traitors" on June 10, citing by name 9.11 conspiracy theorist Mark Dice, only to apologize to Mr. Dice on his program six days later, saying that when people get "fired up" they say "things that are actually stupid." Thing is, calling for the death of people who disagree with you is not being "fired up," it's being full of rage. Do we tolerate folks who spout off in rage at the dinner table, at the barbecue, at the workplace? We do on radio and TV, apparently. You probably won't be surprised to learn that this isn't the first time for Mr. Reagan, nor will you be surprised that Mr. Reagan's employer, Radio America, also employs G. Gordon "Head Shots!" Liddy. And, need I mention that Article III, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution sets a higher bar for treason than "disagreeing with Michael Reagan"? Using the link above, you can contact Radio America's President and ask if Radio America has, you know, policies and procedures about calls for violence and death on the air. When calling, feel free to use the words immoral and decadent to refer to Mr. Reagan's behavior. Mr. Reagan clearly doesn't have the old man's sense of humor (or writers) and maybe he's pretty upset about it.

Meanwhile, over 160 House Reps (including over 70 Democrats) have sponsored a bill essentially authorizing war against Iran -- because nothing solves chaos like more chaos. H. Con. 362 would command Mr. Bush to initiate an international land/sea/air blockade around Iran, which is illegal without U.N. approval, and which would likely provoke a retaliation from Iran. I'm guessing Mr. Bush doesn't need much commanding in this matter, either. Council for a Livable World has the pertinent contact tool.
